Born in Bergamo, Italia.  Artistic Director and Opera Director with extensive experience in the musical and theatrical sectors at both national and international levels.

He obtained a Diploma in Piano Performance from the Conservatorio G. Donizetti in Bergamo in 1990 and subsequently attended an advanced piano course at the École Internationale de Piano in Lausanne (1990–1992) under the guidance of Maestro Fausto Zadra. Between 1990 and 1994, he performed in concert as a soloist, in chamber ensembles, and with orchestra.

In 1994, he graduated in Law from the Università degli Studi di Milano, with a thesis on the employment relationship between opera institutions and artistic ensembles.

Professional Experience

  • Artistic Director of Tele+3 Classica (1996-2000)

  • Artistic Coordinator at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala (2000–2002)

  • Head of Musical Services at the Fondazione Teatro alla Scala (2002–2006)

  • Head of Musical Services & Manager of Daily Theatre Operations, Fondazione Teatro alla Scala (2007-2011)

  • Artistic Director of the Fondazione Arena di Verona (2012–2016)

  • Artistic Director of Classica HD (since 2016) and host of the programme Mestiere Teatro (since 2021)

  • Artistic Director of the Macerata Opera Festival (2023–2024).

Since 2016, he has been active as an opera director and, together with Piero Maranghi, has staged productions in major Italian theatres. Among these:

  • Il Trespolo tutore di A. Stradella (Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, October 2020)
